About Key-o's Guide Service

Key-O's is a locally owned and family operated company for over 30 years. We fish from May 15th through August. The rest of the year we focus on how we can become better to serve our clients and give them the trip of a lifetime!
Key-O's was started by Lynn Keogh when he was 18 years old. Back in those days he launched his own 17 foot boat with his truck everyday and learned everything by trial and error. He created his own techniques that have stood the test of time. Lynn is still a fishing guide on the Kenai River and a professional Hunting Guide. He and his wife Merry have raised their three children in their footsteps and taught them the tricks of the trade. All three children have their Coast Guard Licenses are now all captains and specialize in different opportunities and styles that Alaska has to offer.
Wherever the best fishing is on the Kenai Peninsula, you will find Key-O's! We provide a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, with fully equipped boats and top quality fishing equipment. Our entire crew are drug tested and CPR/First Aid Certified. Being partnered up with some of the best dealers and products on the market, we always have the latest equipment and gear that the market has to offer. Whether you're fishing on the Kenai River, Kasilof River or Cook Inlet you will find Key-O's!

Meet Our Captains

Lynn Keogh
My name is Lynn Keogh and I was born and raised in Alaska. I grew up fishing, hunting and
trapping with my family and continue these with my own family. From my earliest years all I ever wanted to do was hunt, fish or trap so when I was 20 years old I started guiding on the Kenai river, having fished it with my dad since I could walk, it was the perfect fit for me. I also started as an assistant hunting guide in the spring and fall for additional income and after a few years applied for and received my registered guide license from the state of Alaska.
Having met my wife at one of those NORMAL jobs, that I never liked or could keep because of upcoming hunting or fishing seasons, we decided to expand the business to include halibut fishing. We purchased a saltwater boat and opened a charter office in Ninilchik. My wife
also quit her NORMAL job and we began over 30 years of sport fishing, which we raised our 3 children and now they are all Coast Guard licensed Captains. We are extremely proud of all 3 of our hard working kids, if something needs to be done we don’t have to ask twice they jump right in and get the job done.
Come join myself and our family for your Fishing Excursion of a Lifetime,
YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

Hunter Keogh
Hi guys, my name is Hunter Keogh and I own and operate F/V The Mistress. I started deck-handing for my brother, Levi, at the age of 10 and never looked back. Growing up with a Mother and Father who hunts, fishes, and traps 12 months out of the year, my 2 siblings and I never really had a choice! Even if we didn't want to go, we would get drug out of bed at all hours of the morning to go on another adventure. After 8 years of working the deck and absorbing every ounce of information from Levi and our surrounding friends, I applied and received my captains license when I was 18 (hadn't even graduated high school yet). I operated the F/V The Hunter for 8 full seasons and have loved every minute of it. Everyday is a new day and seems to hit me with a new challenge. It keeps me striving to be better at what I do and to help people catch the fish of a lifetime. Last year my wife and I decided it was time to start growing so we purchased a boat and went to work. We worked hard for 4 months, stripping all the paint, re-painting the whole boat, new electronics, all new gear and tackle and FINALLY she is on the water and fishing.
When you come fishing with our family, you start as a customer and leave a part of the family. We work hard daily to make everyone's trip a memorable one and to send them back with fish for the freezer. No matter if you fish with Me, Dennis or Lynn, I know we will make your trip fun!

Dennis Smith
My name is Dennis Smith and I run the F/V The Hunter. Being a born and raised Alaskan, I have fished the salt water of Alaska my whole life. When I was 18, I enlisted in the Marine Corp and travelled the world for 4 years serving. When I got home, I became an operator and ran heavy equipment for years. When Hunter gave me a call one spring asking if I wanted to come work for him as a deckhand, I jumped on the opportunity. After working for a few years, with Hunter as my mentor, we sat down and discussed me getting a Captains license and running F/V The Hunter. It didn't take long to come to a decision and I went to school. I look forward to being able to run under the Keyos flag and help keep the reputation strong. I look forward to seeing you on the deck this summer with rods bent!
